Paula Crosby has over 21 years counselling experience in a range of organisations dealing with Drug/Alcohol misuse, Domestic Violence, Childhood Abuse, Bereavement, Family/Relationship problems, Adolescence, and other common counselling issues, as well as running a private practice offering counselling and counselling supervision.
Paula is primarily trained as a Psychodynamic Counsellor but works and teaches in an Integrative way, strongly believing that it is very difficult to fit a client into one theory, recognising it is more beneficial to apply an understanding of theories to client issues to ensure the client always receives the best service possible.
She also has a very good knowledge and understanding of Humanistic Theories and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and believes they all have equal importance and a place in the counselling relationship. As well as her private counselling work, Paula is also a lecturer in counselling in Highere Education, teaching on level 2 to level 5 (practitioner status) programmes in South Tyneside, Sunderland, County Durham and now in Teesside for over 20 years.
Paula is also a qualified counselling Supervisor and is very passionate about her work as a counsellor and trainer and always strives to give the very best service to all who work with her.
